Question

Is it possible to change the DNA of a plant to change its use? For example, can I change the DNA of a potato to prevent cancer?

Answer

We just talked about GMO. So yes, it is possible to change the DNA of a plant through GMO method, through conventional crossing or through gene targetted mutation. To prevent cancer is a mighty goal. You would need to have a lot of knowledge about what modification you need to make to achieve you goal. That does not sound so easy.
