Why is it easier to clone a plant then an animal?

Plants cells are totipotent which means that they are able to turn into any cell (leaf cell, root cell etc), similar to stem cells. It is that property that makes it easier to do clonal propagation in plants.

Why is it easier to clone plants than animals?

Because plant cells are highly totipotent as mentioned earlier. You ever made cutting from a house plant? Cut, place stem in water and 10 days later, roots appear at the base and you have just cloned a plant!
