I've seen black eyes and bruises on many body parts, but never bruised noses. Noses just seem to turn red. Can you bruise your nose, and if not, why not?
Yes, you can bruise your nose, though people tend to break it more often and it turns red more than it turns black. A bruise results when your blood vessel bursts due to trauma (a fall, punch, etc.) and the blood goes to the skin, making it visible. Bruises start red due to the blood but turns black because of the repair system used to clean up the bruise changes its colour. Another name for bruising is "minor hematoma."
