About StemCellTalks

StemCellTalks (SCT) is a national stem cell biology outreach initiative in partnership with Let’s Talk Science and the Stem Cell Network. It was established to facilitate knowledge transfer relevant to the science and practical ethics of stem cells between scientists and high school students.

We hope to relate the science and medical dilemmas currently surrounding stem cells to high school students and to move public thought away from the strictly philosophical arguments.

The first SCT event in Montreal was held in May 2016. StemCellTalks was developed in Toronto and the inaugural symposium was held there in 2010. It has since expanded to other cities in Canada. We are currently recruiting event participants for 2017 but also volunteers to help run the day.
